⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
In Never Lie by Freida McFadden, newlyweds Tricia and Ethan are searching for their dream home when they visit an old manor, only to be trapped inside by a violent snowstorm. The house, once owned by the renowned psychiatrist Dr. Hale, holds dark secrets, especially since Dr. Hale mysteriously disappeared three years ago without a trace.
Tricia stumbles upon a hidden room containing audio tapes, and as she listens to them, she begins to piece together the unsettling truth behind Dr. Hale’s disappearance. Each recording exposes chilling secrets about her patients, her life, and the strange occurrences that led to her vanishing.
As Tricia listens to the tapes, the tension mounts. The more she uncovers about Dr. Hale’s disappearance, the darker the secrets become, and the danger inside the manor grows with every revelation.
My overall opinion
I really enjoyed the fast pace of Never Lie, especially with the short chapters that kept things moving quickly. The twist was good, but it didn’t feel as exciting as I expected, and some parts didn’t quite make sense. There’s only so much I can say without giving away spoilers, but the writing style kept me hooked, and I finished the book quickly because it was so engaging.
Who would enjoy this book?

It explores themes of secrecy, darkness, depiction and lies. Just be aware that the book includes some sensitive topics like murder, self-harm, abuse, mental health issues, and threats of sexual assault.
